1 min read

WAREHAM — A Wareham officer’s attempt to stop a white sedan on Minot Avenue led to a high-speed pursuit and foot chase on Feb. 1.

At around 4:52 p.m., Lovell Johnson, 35, of Wareham, failed to pull over and engaged police in a chase through Wareham and Onset.

Officers managed to deploy tire deflation devices, known as “Stop Sticks,” to slow down the sedan, but Johnson continued driving erratically on deflated tires.

The chase concluded when Johnson’s vehicle became disabled in Onset.

He then led officers on a brief on-foot pursuit before being apprehended without further incident.

Johnson faces charges including various motor vehicle violations and resisting arrest.

He is scheduled for arraignment at Wareham 4th District Court on Feb. 3.
