Man arrested on outstanding warrant in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY — A local man was arrested on an active warrant after visiting the St. Johnsbury Police Department to retrieve his property.

According to the police report, at about 4:27 p.m. on Jan. 24, Donald Hitman, 41, of St. Johnsbury, arrived at the police station at 1187 Main Street.

Officer Hendry recognized Hitman and knew of an outstanding warrant for his arrest related to charges of Aggravated Assault and Criminal Threatening.

Hitman was promptly taken into custody and processed before being lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility (NERCF).

He is scheduled for arraignment on Jan. 27 at 8:30 a.m. in the Caledonia Superior Court.
