BAILEYVILLE — A routine traffic stop on Houlton Road led to a significant drug trafficking bust by the Baileyville Police Department on Jan. 16, resulting in three arrests.

During the stop, officers developed evidence suggesting the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, which led to the deployment of a drug detection canine.

The canine’s alert prompted a search that uncovered a stash of illegal drugs and a weapon.

Seized from the vehicle were 43.5 grams of fentanyl, 5.4 grams of methamphetamine, 3.8 grams of crack cocaine, and 0.4 grams of cocaine.

Officers also confiscated a shotgun, cash suspected to be proceeds from drug sales, and various items indicating involvement in drug trafficking activities.

The estimated street value of the narcotics is about $8,000.

The individuals arrested were Katelyn Fields, 29, of Bangor; Walter Tomah, 42, of Indian Township; and Zandra Campbell, 25, also of Indian Township.

Fields and Tomah are being held at Washington County Jail on $15,000 cash bail each, while Campbell has been released on bail.

All face charges including Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs (Class A) and Unlawful Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs (Class B).

The operation was supported by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department and U.S. Border Patrol.
