Two-vehicle crash at Derby intersection, no injuries reported

DERBY — A two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of E. Main Street and Seymour Drive on Jan. 19, with no injuries reported.

Vermont State Police, along with Newport Police Department and Newport Fire Department, responded to the crash at 5:55 p.m.

Authorities determined that Fredrick Sherlaw, 44, of Derby, failed to yield the right of way while attempting a left.

Sherlaw, who was driving a 2020 Ram 1500, collided with a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox operated by Debbie Desautels, 68, of Newport.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident.

The front bumper of Sherlaw’s vehicle and the front bumper and left quarter panel of Desautels’ vehicle sustained damage.

The clear weather and dry road conditions were noted at the time of the crash.
