Ledyard police release sketch of church robbery, assault suspect

LEDYARD — Police have released a computer-generated image of a suspect involved in the robbery and assault of an office employee at the Ledyard Congregational Church on the morning of Jan. 13.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 8:50 a.m. when the suspect allegedly robbed and physically assaulted a staff member inside the church premises.

The Ledyard Police Department described the suspect as a Hispanic or Middle Eastern male, roughly 5 feet 9 inches tall, with short dark hair and facial hair.

He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and white Nike sneakers.

The police have not provided a description of a vehicle connected to the suspect, who was last seen on foot in the church building.

The Ledyard Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual responsible for the crime.

Detective Christopher Cadro and Investigator Michael Browning are leading the ongoing investigation.
