WEST BRIDGEWATER — A 24-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on charges related to possession and distribution of child pornography, police said.

Davi Borges Dos Santos of West Bridgewater faces charges of possession of child pornography and distributing obscene matter, according to West Bridgewater Police Chief Timothy Nixon.

The arrest stemmed from a Dec. 17 CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children about child sexual abuse materials being distributed via an instant messaging app.

Detective Jared Percival’s investigation traced the app usage to a home on Ellis Avenue in West Bridgewater, identifying Dos Santos as the suspect.

Police confirmed no children at the residence were involved.

On Jan. 7 at 8 a.m., authorities executed a search warrant at the home, seizing two of Dos Santos’ electronic devices.

The search involved West Bridgewater Police, the W.E.B.

Task Force, and the Massachusetts State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

State Police confirmed on Jan. 14 that one device contained five videos of child sexual abuse materials.

Dos Santos was arrested Jan. 15 at the same residence and arraigned that day in Brockton District Court.

The charges against Dos Santos are allegations. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
