1 min read

CANDIA — Firefighters from Candia and Auburn battled a tractor-trailer fire at the Candia First Stoppe early this morning, officials said.

The Candia Fire Rescue was dispatched just after 2 a.m. following reports of a tractor-trailer unit on fire.

The Auburn Fire Department also responded, providing assistance with their tanker.

Upon arrival, crews encountered a fully involved tractor-trailer unit.

The quick action of the driver, who noticed the fire before backing the vehicle between two other units, prevented any additional property damage.

Firefighters worked for several hours to extinguish the flames and complete overhaul operations.

The fire was declared under control after their intense efforts.

No civilians were injured in the incident.

However, one Candia firefighter sustained a minor injury but did not require further medical attention.

The cause of the fire is suspected to be related to a brake fire on the tractor-trailer.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact cause.
