MARSHFIELD — Vermont State Police have launched a search for an 88-year-old Williamstown man reported missing Saturday afternoon.

Morris Lasell was last seen around 3:30 p.m. walking in the area of 2764 Rt 232.

According to authorities, Lasell was with his wife, Brenda Lasell, and a friend before he wandered off alone during their walk and failed to return.

Lasell is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds with white hair.

He was last seen wearing tan pants, a blue denim long sleeve shirt, a white hat, and hiking boots.

Although police do not suspect foul play in Lasell’s disappearance, there is growing concern for his safety due to his age.

The direction Lasell headed remains unknown, and efforts to find him are ongoing.

The Vermont State Police are asking anyone with information on Lasell’s whereabouts or who might have seen him after he separated from his walking companions to call the Berlin Barracks at 802-229-9191.
