Highgate town office tractor vandalized, police seek information

HIGHGATE — Vermont State Police are investigating a case of vandalism after Highgate Town Office’s tractor was found with extensive damage early Sunday morning.

Authorities were alerted to the incident at approximately 8:51 a.m. on June 3, when they discovered a 2021 John Deere 5090M tractor with a shattered cab door, broken windows, and damaged ignition and dash panel.

The tractor, which is owned by the town of Highgate, was last seen intact the evening before.

Police have not identified any suspects at this time and are requesting the public’s assistance.
