Derby Line man charged with vandalism at local bank

DERBY LINE — A 75-year-old Derby Line resident, Leonard Oak, has been accused of unlawful mischief following an incident at the Community National Bank on Main Street.

The Vermont State Police Derby Barracks reported that they received notification of vandalism at the bank on June 6 at approximately 11:28 a.m.

The subsequent investigation revealed that Oak allegedly damaged an ATM at the bank on May 31.

Authorities have issued Oak a citation to appear in Orleans Court on July 23 to respond to the charges.

The Community National Bank sustained property damage as a result of the incident.

Further details about the extent of the damage or the motive behind Oak’s actions have not been released.
