Pownal man faces multiple charges after domestic disturbance

POWNAL — Vermont State Police arrested a Pownal man early this morning for aggravated domestic assault, unlawful mischief, and criminal threatening following a domestic disturbance call.

Authorities were dispatched to a residence on Dutch Haven Drive at approximately 2:43 a.m. where they began an investigation into the incident.

Tyler M. Wilford, 30, is accused of assaulting an acquaintance and damaging the victim’s property.

During his arrest and transportation to the Vermont State Police Barracks in Shaftsbury, Wilford allegedly made several threats of bodily harm to the troopers, which led to an additional charge of criminal threatening.

Wilford was detained at the Marble Valley Correctional Facility due to lack of bail.

He is scheduled to appear in Bennington Criminal Court today at 12:30 p.m. The Vermont State Police has not released the name of the victim, adhering to policies protecting victims of domestic violence.
