Newport man charged with unlawful mischief at Northeast Kingdom Human Resources

NEWPORT — A Newport City man was cited for unlawful mischief after damaging property at Northeast Kingdom Human Resources on June 5.

Vermont State Police responded to a call from employees at NEKHS in Derby at about 12:37 p.m., reporting that Lance Sayers, 40, had become agitated in their office lobby.

During the incident, Sayers reportedly damaged a radio without authorization.

Following an investigation, police located Sayers and cited him into Orleans County Criminal Court for the violation.

The court date for Sayers to answer to the charges has not been disclosed.
