ST. JOHNSBURY — Vermont State Police arrested a St. Johnsbury man on charges of domestic assault after responding to a disturbance call at Mount Pleasant Trailer Park early on the morning of May 29.

Jacob Olcott, 31, was taken into custody on June 1, after a tip led authorities to his location at the same residence where the alleged assault occurred.

The initial incident involved Olcott making threats of physical harm to a female resident.

Although Olcott was not present when troopers first arrived, evidence suggested a history of physical abuse.

An arrest warrant was issued following the initial visit by the Vermont State Police, and with the assistance of an anonymous tip, Olcott was found at the residence on the evening of June 1.

He was apprehended without incident and charged with domestic assault.

Olcott was processed at the Vermont State Police – St. Johnsbury Barracks and is scheduled to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on June 3 at 12:30 p.m. He is currently being held at Northeast Correctional Complex on $500 bail.

The Vermont State Police have not released the name of the victim in accordance with their policy on domestic violence cases.
