1 min read

SIMSBURY — Simsbury Police are investigating after a package containing an Apple iPhone was stolen from a front porch on Fernwood Drive on May 29 at about 11:33 a.m.

The package had been delivered by FedEx just moments before a male suspect, purportedly dressed as a FedEx employee, was caught on surveillance video taking the item.

The suspect left the scene in a vehicle believed to be a gray Kia Sorento.

FedEx has acknowledged that similar thefts have occurred in the area and suspects the incidents to be the work of an organized crime group.

Authorities are asking the community to be alert and report any unusual or suspicious behavior.

The Simsbury Police Department has released photos of the suspect and the vehicle.

They request that anyone with information or who recognizes the suspect or vehicle to contact Officer Kyle Colby at (860) 658-3100.
