Lowell, MA fugitive nabbed in armed robbery, kidnapping case

LOWELL — A fugitive wanted for masked armed robbery and kidnapping was arrested on May 28 after a coordinated effort by Massachusetts State Police and local authorities.

Henry Garcia, born Oct. 10, 2003, was apprehended by a Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section North Trooper and members of the Lowell Warrant Squad at 338 Market Street.

Garcia faced a warrant from Holyoke District Court, where he was charged with masked armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, and felony larceny based on an investigation by Holyoke detectives.

As officers closed in, Garcia attempted to flee by jumping out of a second-floor window, holding a bag.

He was quickly detained without further incident.

A .45 caliber firearm was found on Garcia at the time of his arrest.

Additionally, the bag contained an AR-15 assault rifle and a sawed-off shotgun.

Garcia was transported to Lowell Police Department for booking, where additional charges are pending.

The successful capture underscores the vigilance and coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies in addressing violent crime.
