LOWELL — A 20-year-old man was apprehended and multiple firearms were seized following a foot pursuit in the Downtown area, authorities said.
The chase began when members of the Warrant Unit — comprising Lowell Police, Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, and Massachusetts State Police — attempted to locate the individual for an outstanding arrest warrant earlier today.
The man fled on foot, prompting a brief chase.
With the assistance of multiple LPD officers and NPS Law Enforcement Rangers, the suspect was caught and taken into custody.
Police confiscated a handgun, a shotgun, and a high-capacity rifle, along with ammunition.
The arrestee is facing multiple counts of carrying a firearm without a license and other firearms-related charges.
