ROLLINSFORD — A motorcycle was involved in a serious collision with an unidentified vehicle on Sunday evening, resulting in serious injuries to the motorcyclist and a hit-and-run investigation by local authorities.

The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Portland Avenue and Roberts Road.

The Rollinsford Police Department, alongside the Rollinsford Fire Department and York Ambulance, responded to the scene where they found the motorcyclist, who was promptly transported to Wentworth Douglass Hospital with severe injuries.

Authorities are now seeking the vehicle that fled the scene, which is believed to be a 2010-2013 Kia Forte with a missing rear bumper and possible taillight damage.

The police report notes that the car’s rear bumper may have been an aftermarket addition, recognizable by its black primer coat.

The Strafford County Regional Accident Reconstruction Team assisted at the scene, and the Rollinsford Police Department is urging witnesses or anyone with information about the vehicle or driver to contact Sergeant Mitchell Brooks at (603) 608-9121.
