Newark hit-and-run leaves elderly man’s truck damaged

NEWARK — Vermont State Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident that left an 86-year-old man’s pickup truck damaged on Black Fly Blvd.

Authorities say the crash occurred on May 25 when Paul Williams’ unoccupied GMC truck was struck by an unidentified vehicle, causing contact damage.

Williams, a resident of W Burke, reported the incident to the Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury Barracks at about 10:14 a.m.

Investigators are seeking information from the public to identify the driver responsible for leaving the scene.

Witnesses or those with knowledge of the event are encouraged to contact the St. Johnsbury Barracks at 802-748-3111.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further details were immediately available.
