BRISTOL — A local man was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly violating a court-ordered condition of release by behaving violently toward a family member, Vermont State Police reported.

Troopers from the New Haven Barracks and officers from the Bristol Police Department responded to a call at approximately 9:07 a.m. on Lower Hardscrabble Road where 24-year-old Chase Gibbs-Emilo was reported to be intoxicated and acting irrationally.

Gibbs-Emilo had fled the scene by the time authorities arrived.

An investigation concluded that Gibbs-Emilo had breached his release conditions by displaying violent and tumultuous behavior.

He was later located and arrested at a residence in the Town of Monkton.

Vermont State Police did not disclose the name of the domestic violence victim, following policy.

Gibbs-Emilo, a Bristol resident, is scheduled to appear in Addison County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Sept. 9 at 12:30 p.m. to face charges related to the incident.
