HARTFORD — Police arrested a man following a stand-off at a condominium complex where he threatened officers with a firearm.

On May 24, Hartford Police Department responded to a domestic violence incident at Stony Creek Condominiums, where two elderly women had sustained injuries.

The victims, aged 91 and 72, were treated by Hartford EMS and transported to Dartmouth Health.

The suspect, John Beane, threatened police with a firearm when they approached his residence to investigate.

Officers established a perimeter, but after an extended stand-off and unsuccessful negotiations, police withdrew citing public safety concerns, as Beane was alone and not a threat to others.

On May 25, a family member reported Beane in a semi-conscious state.

Police made a forced entry and arrested Beane after providing emergency care.

He faces charges of 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault and Domestic Assault.

Beane is being held without bail at Southern State Correctional Facility and awaits arraignment on May 28 at Vermont Superior Court-Windsor Criminal Division.
