BARNET — A local resident was taken into custody on charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment following an incident on Varnum Street, authorities said Saturday.

Vermont State Police said Kasea Hill, 44, of Montpelier, was arrested after they responded to a threatening complaint at around 6:16 p.m. Friday in the town of Barnet.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks investigated the complaint and determined that Hill had placed Mack Varnum, 46, of Barnet, in fear of serious bodily injury or harm.

Following the investigation, Hill was transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

Hill has been cited to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on Monday, May 28, at 12:30 p.m. to face the charges.
