RIDGEFIELD — Police responded to a juvenile-related incident involving a possible abduction and a police chase that ended in a crash on Wilton Road West on May 24 at about 5:15 p.m.

The Ridgefield Police Department assisted the Wilton Police Department in a pursuit that began when a female juvenile was reported to have been abducted.

She managed to exit the suspects’ vehicle near Tanglewood Court before it continued north on Main Street.

Despite attempts by both Wilton and Ridgefield officers to stop the suspect vehicle, it refused to pull over and subsequently turned onto Catoonah Street, where it collided with another car.

Following the crash, several juveniles fled the vehicle on foot.

A perimeter was established, and with the aid of K-9 units from Ridgefield and Bridgeport, four juveniles—two males and two females—were located and apprehended.

They were then taken to the Wilton Police Department for further investigation.

Local law enforcement expressed gratitude to the neighboring agencies for their support and to the public for their assistance, stating that phone calls from citizens played a crucial role in resolving the situation.

Authorities have confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to the public following the incident.
