Boston police arrest teen with loaded Glock 19 in Roxbury

BOSTON — Boston Police Department officers arrested a 16-year-old male on firearm charges late Thursday night in the Roxbury neighborhood.

At about 8:56 p.m., on Thursday, officers assigned to District B-2 were patrolling near 24 Maywood Street when they heard what sounded like gunshots.

Shortly after, they received a notification from Boston Police Operations about a shot spotter activation indicating three rounds fired at 27 Edgewood Street.

While canvassing the area, officers spotted a young male jumping a fence on Maywood Street.

The individual appeared sweaty and out of breath.

Upon approaching him, officers conducted a pat frisk and discovered a Glock 19 with a fourteen-round magazine in his waistband.

The teenager was taken into custody and charged with delinquent to wit: unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
