Nahant police respond to shots fired at Long Beach Reservation

NAHANT — Police were called to the scene of a shooting last night at approximately 8 p.m. in the Long Beach Reservation parking lot, authorities said.

The Nahant Police Department, in a statement, assured the public that the shooting seemed to be an isolated incident and there was no immediate threat to the community.

The department clarified that this was not an active shooter situation.

Responding to the emergency alongside Nahant Police were units from the Nahant Fire Department, Massachusetts State Police, Lynn Police, and Cataldo Ambulance.

The victim of the shooting was transported to a local hospital, though their condition has not been released.

The Massachusetts State Police have taken charge of the ongoing investigation.
