HOLDEN — In the early hours of Thursday, police carried out a search warrant on a property on Winters Road as part of a crackdown on illegal Chinese marijuana growing operations in the area.

At around 8:30 a.m., officers from the Holden Police Department, with support from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Office of Cannabis Policy, entered the premises as part of an ongoing investigation.

While no arrests were made during the operation, authorities did confirm that evidence pertinent to the case was collected from the site.

The Holden Police Department highlighted the persistent danger and illicit activities associated with such illegal enterprises, which are often covertly run out of residential properties.

The collaborative effort in this raid underscores the commitment of local and federal agencies to dismantle operations that violate cannabis cultivation and distribution laws.

The Holden Police Department has currently withheld further details regarding the raid, as the investigation remains active.
