Bristol man arrested after striking pedestrian with vehicle on Monkton Road

BRISTOL — A vehicle operated by a Bristol man veered off the road and hit a pedestrian riding a lawn mower on May 17, according to Vermont State Police.

Hunter Poquette, 22, was driving his 2005 Ford F-350 northbound on Monkton Road near Chrissy’s Ct when he crossed into the opposite lane and left the roadway.

The truck struck 67-year-old Bruce Duncan in the front yard of his residence.

Duncan suffered suspected serious bodily injuries and was transported to UVM Medical Center by ambulance.

Upon investigation, troopers discovered that Poquette had an outstanding arrest warrant.

He was taken into custody and cited for negligent operation.

Poquette is scheduled to appear at Addison County Superior Court in connection with the warrant.

The crash scene saw a coordinated response from the Bristol Police Department, Bristol Fire Department, and Bristol Rescue Squad, who assisted state police.
