Driver arrested for DUI refusal after crash on I-89 in Williston

WILLISTON — A single-vehicle crash on Interstate 89 led to the arrest of an Illinois man on charges of DUI refusal in the early hours of May 18.

Daniel A. Arriola, 28, from Romeoville, Illinois, was driving northbound near mile marker 82 when the incident occurred.

Troopers from the Williston Barracks responded to the scene around 1:51 a.m. and identified Arriola as the operator of the vehicle.

Upon interaction, troopers observed signs of impairment with Arriola and conducted a roadside investigation.

Following the investigation, he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Arriola was taken to the Williston Barracks for processing.

After completion, he was released with a citation to appear at the Chittenden County Superior Court on June 6 at 8:30 a.m. to respond to the DUI refusal charge.
