Portland police investigate serious pedestrian crash on Riverside Street

PORTLAND — A serious motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian occurred on Tuesday, May 14, at 10:08 p.m. on Riverside Street, as confirmed by the Portland Police Department.

A 62-year-old Portland man was hit by a car while walking near 568 Riverside Street.

The driver, a 20-year-old woman from Westbrook, was behind the wheel at the time of the collision.

The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was swiftly taken to Maine Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances of the accident.

As of now, no charges have been filed.
