Wareham Police arrest two in $4,200 Ulta Beauty shoplifting incident

WAREHAM — On May 7, 2024, the Wareham Police Criminal Investigation Division, along with members of the Patrol Division, were dispatched to Ulta Beauty Supply at 2421 Cranberry Highway for reports of an active shoplifting incident involving a male and female suspect.

The suspects left the store with stolen merchandise valued at over $4,200 before officers arrived.

A description of their vehicle was broadcasted to surrounding agencies.

A Massachusetts State Trooper later pulled over the vehicle on Interstate 495 North.

The vehicle was operated by Bianca-Lee Cruz of Boston, with passengers Jeremy Menendez of Nashua, N.H., and Carmen Resto of Boston.

During the stop, Cruz accelerated away at a high speed, running over Resto’s foot in the process.

Cruz and the vehicle were later located in West Bridgewater in the Market Basket parking lot, where she was taken into custody by Massachusetts State Police.

Cruz, 35, was charged with organized retail crime, larceny over $1200, and had four outstanding warrants.

Menendez, 34, was also charged with organized retail crime and larceny over $1200.

Both Cruz and Menendez were arraigned at the Wareham Fourth District Court.

Resto was transported to a local hospital for her injuries.

According to Ulta Beauty, both Cruz and Menendez have been involved in 24 shoplifting incidents throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire, totaling over $33,000 in stolen merchandise.
