Concord police warn residents of phone scam

CONCORD — The Concord Police Department has issued a scam alert, warning residents about fraudulent calls from individuals claiming to be from the department.

The scammers demand immediate payment, threatening arrest if the money is not paid.

Police emphasize that these calls are not from the Concord Police Department and urge anyone who receives such a call to hang up and contact them at 603-225-8600 for verification.

The calls may appear to come from “Blocked/Restricted,” an out-of-state area code, or display as “Concord PD 603-225-8600.”

Residents who receive such calls are encouraged to report the incident to the Concord Police Department at 603-225-8600.

Authorities remind the public to be vigilant and cautious regarding these types of scams.
