Box truck crashes on Gulf Road in Northfield

1 min read

NORTHFIELD — At approximately 7 a.m. on May 13, a box truck veered off the road on Gulf Road, knocking down a telephone pole.

The driver provided conflicting reasons for the incident, either texting or an unknown animal crossing the road.

However, tire tracks indicated the truck left the road without braking or swerving, which does not align with avoiding an animal.

Authorities noted that box trucks are not permitted on Gulf Road.

Additionally, it is illegal for unregistered and uninsured vehicles to travel on any road, and transferring plates from one vehicle to another is also prohibited.

Fortunately, the driver did not sustain any life-threatening injuries in the accident.
