Antique fire hydrant missing from Mill Alley

HARRISVILLE — Sometime last week, an antique fire hydrant went missing from Mill Alley, according to the Harrisville Police Department.

Although the hydrant has little dollar value, it served as a historic marker illustrating how mills operated many years ago and how they formed their own fire suppression systems using the rivers and dam network.

Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the missing hydrant to contact the Harrisville Police Department at 603-827-2903.

The piece is considered priceless for Historic Harrisville.
