Westport police seek suspects in jewelry store smash and grab

WESTPORT — Westport Police responded to a burglary at Lux, Bond, and Green located at 136 Main Street on May 9, at approximately 3:10 p.m.

Employees reported that two masked and gloved individuals entered the store wielding sledgehammers and began smashing display cases.

The staff retreated to the back of the store, avoiding any interaction with the suspects.

The burglars stole an undetermined amount of jewelry before fleeing south on Elm Street.

Witnesses last observed the suspects escaping in a black BMW sedan heading towards Fairfield on Post Road East.
