Dartmouth, MA police arrest man on indecent assault charges at carnival

DARTMOUTH — Dartmouth Police have arrested 54-year-old Jeffrey Lehman on charges of indecent assault and battery after an incident at a local carnival.

The incident occurred on Saturday, May 4, at about 10:08 p.m. at the carnival outside of the Dartmouth Mall at 356 State Road.

Lehman, a Fall River resident, is accused of following a victim and her friend for some time before approaching the victim and touching her inappropriately.

Lehman allegedly continued to make inappropriate comments and placed money down the victim’s shirt.

Attendees at the carnival intervened when they became aware of the situation, forming a barrier between the victim and Lehman.

Officers on patrol detail at the carnival responded to the disturbance and apprehended Lehman.

He is facing charges of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over and accosting/annoying another person.
