Multi-agency task force arrests New Haven man on weapons, drug charges

SHELTON — A joint operation involving several Connecticut law enforcement agencies resulted in the arrest of a New Haven man on a slew of weapons and narcotics charges, authorities announced Thursday.

The Connecticut State Police Statewide Urban Violence Cooperative Crime Control Task Force, Statewide Narcotics Task Force, along with the New Haven, Bridgeport, and Shelton Police Departments, executed a search warrant at 11 a.m. on May 2 on Quezon A.

Jones, a convicted felon suspected of involvement in narcotics distribution.

During the search of Jones, 26, and his vehicle, detectives seized $463 in cash, a Glock 9 mm handgun modified for fully automatic fire with obliterated serial numbers, an extended 30-round magazine loaded with ammunition, approximately 18.2 grams of cocaine, around 10.3 grams of fentanyl, marijuana, and drug packaging materials.

Jones was taken into custody and transported to Troop G where he was processed on numerous charges.

His bond was set at $1 million ahead of a court appearance at GA#23.

Unable to post bond, Jones was presented in court on May 3.
