Driver cited for excessive speed on I-91 in Putney

PUTNEY — A Pennsylvania man was cited for driving more than twice the speed limit on I-91, Vermont State Police said.

At 8:46 p.m. on May 3, a trooper observed a vehicle traveling at 126 mph in a 65 mph zone in Putney.

The driver, identified as 21-year-old Andrew Loughnane of Bryn Mawr, PA, was stopped without incident.

Loughnane was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windham Criminal Division on June 4 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge of excessive speed.

Additionally, he received a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for speeding on the interstate.
