Bridgeport teen missing after leaving after-school program

BRIDGEPORT — A local family is seeking the community’s assistance in locating 16-year-old Kerrena Service, who has been reported missing after leaving her after-school program with two other girls yesterday.

L’shanah Lala Murrell, Kerrena’s sister, reached out to residents in the New Haven and Bridgeport areas through social media, urging anyone with information to come forward.

According to Murrell, her sister has never been on her own before, raising concerns for her safety.

The Bridgeport Police Department, along with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) hotline, has been notified and is urging the public to report any sightings or information that could lead to Kerrena’s whereabouts.

Murrell has provided her personal contact number for any leads at (203) 642-1918.

The family emphasizes the urgency of the situation and requests that this information be shared widely to aid in the search for Kerrena.

Authorities have not yet released descriptions of the two other girls who were reportedly with Kerrena at the time of her disappearance.
