Montville police seek video footage after attempted car theft on Daisy Hill Road

MONTVILLE — Montville Police Department is investigating an attempted car theft that occurred between the evening of April 30 and the morning of May 1 before 9:30 a.m. on Daisy Hill Road.

According to the authorities, the suspect(s) attempted to steal a vehicle by breaking the ignition.

The police are requesting that anyone in the area with video footage of suspicious activity during the time of the incident to contact them at 860-848-7510 and request to speak with Officer Fazzino.

Montville has been experiencing a surge in attempted car thefts, particularly targeting Kia and Hyundai models.

The police department is urging owners of these vehicles to reach out to their dealerships to inquire about available security upgrades.

In addition, the police advise all residents to ensure that no valuables are left in their vehicles to deter potential thefts.
