Moultonborough police investigate trailhead vehicle break-ins

MOULTONBOROUGH — Police are investigating a string of vehicle break-ins that occurred at a trailhead on Old Mountain Road near Severance Road on Sunday.

Officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of valuables stolen from two vehicles parked at the trailhead.

The incidents on April 28 are believed to be connected to a series of similar crimes across the Lakes Region.

The Moultonborough Police Department is urging residents and visitors to take precautions when leaving their vehicles at local trailheads.

Authorities recommend bringing valuables along during activities or ensuring they are hidden from view inside vehicles to reduce the risk of theft.

Sergeant Elijah Balser and Officer Harold Chastain are leading the investigation.
