Middletown Sunoce robbed by 4 masked suspects

MIDDLETOWN — Four masked suspects robbed a Sunoco gas station on Washington Street early Monday morning, making off with cash and merchandise totaling over $6,000, Middletown police reported.

The robbery occurred at the station located at 519 Washington Street around 3:57 a.m. when the suspects, described as male and wearing ski masks and gloves, entered the store and demanded the clerk to stay put while they looted approximately $1,250 in cash and change, along with more than $5,000 worth of cigarettes and vapes.

According to the police, the clerk was unharmed during the incident.

The suspects were last seen heading east on Washington Street.

They fled in two vehicles, a white Ford Fusion with Michigan registration EGM5043 and a blue Mazda CX-9 Touring with Connecticut registration JM1.

The Middletown Police Major Investigations Unit is actively investigating the case.
