Man arrested for second DUI after found unconscious at Orleans Maplefields

ORLEANS — A 23-year-old Charleston man was arrested late Tuesday night on suspicion of his second DUI after being found unconscious at a gas station.

Vermont State Police responded to a call at 9:49 p.m. at the Maplefields gas station in Orleans, where they found Andrew Merrill unresponsive at the gas pumps.

Upon awakening, troopers noted several signs of impairment.

Merrill was taken into custody and processed for driving under the influence at the Derby Barracks.

Following the procedure, he was released with a citation to appear in court on a later date to face charges related to the incident.
