Southington police seek to identify shoplifting suspect

SOUTHINGTON — The Southington Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a man involved in an attempted shoplifting incident at Home Depot on the Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike.

The incident occurred around 5:35 p.m. on April 22 when a male suspect attempted to steal items valued at approximately $700.

Loss Prevention staff at the store successfully recovered the merchandise.

Authorities have released photographs of the suspect and the vehicle believed to be associated with the crime.

The police are urging anyone with information about the man’s identity to contact Officer Michaud at 860-621-0101.

The Southington Police Department assures that all tips can be submitted anonymously and encourages anyone who can assist with the investigation to come forward.
