Bristol man arrested on DUI, reckless endangerment charges

BRISTOL — A 22-year-old Starksboro man was arrested Saturday night on suspicion of driving under the influence and reckless endangerment, according to Vermont State Police.

Authorities conducted a traffic stop at approximately 9:05 p.m. on Mountain Street near the intersection with East Street after observing a vehicle violation.

The driver, identified as Eben M. Clifford, exhibited signs of impairment and was screened for DUI at the scene.

The investigation revealed that Clifford had a passenger in the front seat while he was allegedly operating the vehicle under the influence.

Following the investigation, Clifford was arrested and taken to the New Haven State Police Barracks for processing.

Clifford was later released to a sober adult and issued a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division, to face the charges at a later date.
