BROOKFIELD — Brookfield Police received a 911 call about a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Federal Road and Industrial Park Drive, near the north end of the Super 7 highway Friday afternoon.

Emergency responders from police, fire, and EMS units were dispatched to the scene.

The preliminary investigation suggests that a Yamaha motorcycle, driven by 20-year-old Colin O’Brien of Southbury, was heading north on Super 7 and crossing the intersection to continue on Federal Road when it collided with a Nissan Sentra.

The car, operated by 64-year-old Joseph Kolf of Brookfield, was making a left turn onto Federal Road southbound at the time of the accident.

O’Brien sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Danbury Hospital for treatment.

The intersection was partially closed for approximately four hours, reopening around 7:30 p.m., as police conducted their investigation.

Authorities are still looking into the cause of the crash and are asking any eyewitnesses who have not yet come forward to contact Detective Sergeant O’Brien at 203-740-4121.
