Man cited for kicking door at St Johnsbury State Police barracks

ST JOHNSBURY — A Marshfield man was cited for unlawful mischief after he kicked and damaged the front door of the St Johnsbury State Police barracks early Monday morning.

Vermont State Police said they received a report at 7:43 a.m. on April 15 of an incident at their barracks.

Troopers responded to the scene and met with 48-year-old Anthony Russell.

According to authorities, Russell admitted to kicking the door, which resulted in damage.

He was subsequently issued a citation to appear in Caledonia County Criminal Court to answer to the charge of Unlawful Mischief.

The date of Russell’s court appearance has not been announced.

The extent of the damage to the door has not been specified, and the Vermont State Police have not released further details about the motive behind the incident.
