Danbury police seek community help after string of burglaries

1 min read

DANBURY — The Danbury Police Department is calling on residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity following a series of burglaries in the town, particularly on the Grafton side along Route 4.

Authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for unfamiliar vehicles parked at unusual times on Ford Mill Road, Zaccaria Road, and surrounding areas.

Residents are urged to contact the police department or send a message through the department’s Facebook page with descriptions of any such vehicles.

The call for community assistance comes in the wake of an incident on Monday where a car was severely damaged in an attempted break-in while the owner was away watching the Solar Eclipse with family on Ford Mill Road.

The perpetrator failed to gain entry and fled the scene, leaving behind only evidence of their attempt.

In light of recent events, the police are emphasizing the importance of security measures including locking doors of both vehicles and homes.

They also suggest investing in home security cameras, such as WiFi, cellular, or game cameras, noting their effectiveness in identifying suspects, especially when other forensic methods are unsuccessful.
