Everett officers recover loaded firearm from teen during patrol

1 min read

EVERETT — In the early evening hours last night, Officers Palermo and Gallagher were on patrol in the Main Street area when they encountered a group of four males throwing trash on the street.

Their intervention escalated from instructing the group to clean up their litter to the discovery and recovery of an unlawfully possessed loaded firearm from one of the 16-year-old male subjects.

This incident marks the second time in two weeks that Everett police have seized a firearm from individuals prohibited from carrying them.

The swift action by the officers prevented the potential for more serious crimes involving the weapon.

The Everett Police Department is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.

The juvenile has been taken into custody, and charges are pending.
