Everett officer arrests one for drug trafficking during early morning patrol

EVERETT — An Everett police officer’s vigilance led to a significant drug bust.

Officer John Uga, on patrol at 4:40 a.m., noticed an occupied vehicle that struck him as out of place.

Upon engaging with the individual inside, Uga quickly determined something was off.

A subsequent investigation, with the help of Officer Joe Basteri, revealed a cache of illegal drugs.

The officers’ discovery resulted in one person being taken into custody on charges of drug trafficking.

Alongside the arrest, police seized the narcotics and over $5,000 in cash.
