Panton man faces DUI, vehicle theft, and cocaine possession charges

PANTON — A local man was arrested late Tuesday night on multiple charges, including driving under the influence for the third time, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and possession of cocaine, according to Vermont State Police.

Nathan M. Redmond, 39, was taken into custody after troopers responded to a call about a stolen vehicle on Panton Road at about 9:58 p.m. Upon locating the vehicle and identifying Redmond as the operator, troopers observed signs of impairment and conducted a DUI screening.

During the investigation, Redmond was also found to be in possession of crack cocaine.

He was arrested and taken to the New Haven State Police Barracks for processing.

Redmond was later released to a sober adult with a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on a date to be determined.
