ST. JOHNSBURY — A St. Johnsbury man was arrested Saturday afternoon on suspicion of driving under the influence following two separate vehicle collisions.

Vermont State Police reported that at about 4:01 p.m., they received a call about an F150 pickup truck that had struck another vehicle on Old Center Rd in St Johnsbury.

The driver, identified as 41-year-old Robert Cennami, was suspected to be intoxicated by individuals involved in the accident while exchanging information.

Subsequently, at around 4:21 p.m., officers from the St Johnsbury Police Department located the F150 on Memorial Drive near Quality Mitsubishi.

While attempting a traffic enforcement stop, Cennami’s vehicle was involved in another collision as it rear-ended a car ahead of it.

State troopers arrived at the scene and observed signs of impairment when interacting with Cennami.

He was taken into custody and transported to the St Johnsbury Barracks for processing.
